Essential Foods for Glowing Skin

The easiest way to get these following ingredients into your diet is juicing. If you are new to juicing, this is an excellent "go to" drink for glowing skin and a healthier you! I have included a sample as well as a link for more information.

The following veggies are vital on your journey to clear flawless skin (along with your daily skincare regimen of course). You can create incredible juices with these potent detoxifiers.

1. Carrots

Carrots contain vitamin A or beta-carotene. This antioxidant helps to slow aging, stops cells from degenerating and aids in a youthful appearance. Carrots also have vitamin C whihc helps produce collagen. Collagen is vital for the skin! It is responsible for skin elasticity and slowing down signs of aging! Potassium also helps in new skin cells, reducing acne and preventing dark spots on the skin. Carrots help detoxify. Bye bye toxins!! Bye Bye acne!!

2. Beets

Beets offer so many nutrients for healthy, vibrant skin! Cleansing blood is key when it comes to various skin conditions. Beets do exactly this! You don't need very much either (don't juice a whole beet :). Beets are anti-inflammatory as well.

3. Kale

Yes!! Get kale crazy!! This leafy green is very powerful! It includes vitamins A, E, K, C, the B's, iron, magnesium, omega-3 and much more! Vitamin A helps repair skin. If you suffer from acne or skin issues, kale removes waste in the body which ultimately affects your skin!

4. Ginger

I can never get enough ginger!! This root has anti-aging antioxidants! Gingerol fights skin-damaging free radicals and promotes smoothness and evenness in skin tone. It contains potassium, vitamin B6, and magnesium. Boost your immune system and reduce inflammation with this one! It's a natural acne fighting ingredient!

5. Lemon

Lemons might be one of the most powerful fruits! From the peel to the pulp, it is filled with nutrional goodness. Lemon provides almost 90% of our daily vitamin C needs. Lemons cleanse the kidneys and help eliminate toxins. Again, very helpful in maintaining clear skin from the inside out!

6. Parsley

Mmmm...parsley. Not just your simple garnish. Rich in vitamin A, C and K, parsley contains a very wide array of nutrients and health benefits. With all the Vitamin C, parsley may nourish the skin helping to reduce blemishes and skin tone. It stimulates collagen production which is vital for cell repair.

A sample juice!

This one helps clear the skin and is a great detox!

  • 1 large bunch of kale

  • 3 green apples

  • 1 whole unpeeled lemon

  • 1 inch slice of fresh ginger root or add the doTERRA oil

  • 5 carrots

  • 5 stalks of celery

  • 2 green zucchinis

Juice all the ingredients. Voila!! Instant Goodness!!! If you have some left over, simply put it in a glass jar (with lid) and keep in the refrigerator. Sometimes I keep 3 or 4 in the fridge for the day!
